I can't remember whether I went in connection with balance

sheet. It seems to me that at a subsequent date 10 to 20

proofs were received. That would be 11th or 12th. When I

first sent balance sheet to printers on Saturday it had not

got report of directors on back, but another piece of paper

was sent with the directors' report typed on it. I sent thi:

at same time I believe as I sent Ex.G.

The 10 or 20 copies received later contained corrections I

had made; there was no cover at all; no blue cover. On

receipt of the 10 or 20 proofs, I sent one with a letter to

each of shareholders in Hong Kong asking them to come to

meeting. I sent them by hand. Only record of this is in

Chit book. I believe I sent them 12th or 13th. They were

all delivered and signed for. It seems to me that during

these days Mr. Brewer did not come to office because he was

sick.

On 18.6.28 a general meeting was held in Bank premises in

directors' room. Mr. Brewer was not there. Prior to meeting

several directors and shareholders sat down in my office.

I told them that Chairman was ill and that there would be no

Chairman at meeting. We went to board room; a few more came.

It was suggested that a temporary chairman be elected, but

none was elected and meeting was of no result. Every one

agreed to adjourn meeting until Chairman recovered. They

then dispersed. There was a general talk. I entered up

report of meeting. Meeting of 18.6.28 was convened for

purposes for directors and shareholders to see balance sheet

and to re-elect 2 persons as directors. The reason for

making an entry to effect that directors' report and balance

sheet were approve and that 2 persons were re-elected

directors was that it had been intended to propose those

resolutions at the mer ting, and when the meeting was adjourn-

ed it was also meant to adjourn the resolutions. I signed
